Australia Medical Recruitment Shortfall
Filed Under Health | Comments Off
David Shores asked:
During the current world economic crisis, the developed nations of the world are taking many steps to protect both their local economies and the jobs of their citizens. A high unemployment rate, means lower consumer confidence and a decrease in spending. No government wants their economic figures to reduce on previous years, so they are doing what they can to encourage consumer spending and market activity.
The average person will only continue spending at current or previous high rates if they are first of all obviously employed, and more so if they are confident in their job security. Some countries in recent weeks have gone to the level of limiting skilled worker migration to their countries, to keep more jobs available for their current citizens.
One example of this is in Australia, a country famous for welcoming well trained workers from other countries to help fill positions in their workforce where shortages often occur. They have reduced the amount of new positions in many industries that can be offered to skilled immigrants.
There are exceptions to this rule though, where labour shortages will always exist. One example of this is the medical industry. Hospitals are often reported as being short staffed and with long training periods, specific niches in the industry and the high stress of many medical jobs, it is hard to fill shortages from the local population quickly. This is where skilled immigrants make up the shortfall in the health care industry.
It is a globally recognised phenomenon that more and more of the world’s population are moving from rural areas into the city. Australia is no exception to this rule. There are many well documented effects of this situation, such as cities becoming overcrowded, higher pollution rates, increased costs in cities and so on. But there is also the drain on the amount of skilled workers in many industries in rural areas. Again, the health care industry is one that struggles to maintain suitable levels of both qualified medical professionals, nurses and more.
This provides a great opportunity for health care workers from developing countries who wish to migrate to Australia with a great opportunity to both earn more money and experience a rich cultural experience.
The Australian government is also trying to lure medical workers out of the cities into rural areas with tax breaks and other incentives for those accepting rural medical positions.
There are websites you can visit that specifically target medical jobs for doctors seeking employment or locum positions all across Australia. With lots of medical employment always available, the Australian outback is an attractive place to further your medical career or experience the different lifestyle of a rural medical position.

Medical Jobs

Lisa asked:
Like many college students, I chose a major that I considered to be marketable and viable for my adult life. I chose business because that was where I thought I could make the most money in the long run. I did not, however, take into account overall happiness and fulfillment of my future career.
As I quickly found out, my business job was all about money and did not take people and their personal stories into account. I found myself very unsatisfied with my line of work so i decided to start over again.
I went back to school to be a registered nurse. I quickly found out that medical jobs were where the best and brightest people choose to work. It really is an area where you can do so much good for others and feel good about what you are doing. I even decided to do part of my internship overseas in Africa to help out with the situation over there. No matter how you look at it, medical jobs are some of the most highly respected people in the world.
After becoming a registered nurse, I discovered that there were no limits to the happiness that my job could bring me. The people I met and the faces I would run into year after year made this period of time the happiest of my life. Medical jobs are worthwhile and they allow you to be able to be financially stable and comfortable because they are all well-paid positions. Plus, if you like to move around, there are hospitals everywhere so you will never have a hard time finding a job.
The economic slump is causing many people to reassess their job security. I am happy to say that the medical field is one place where there has been few lay-offs, if any. So if you are looking at starting over because you recently lost your job or you are just looking for a job that will make you happier and that you can do for the rest of your life, consider a job in the medical field. You will quickly find out how much satisfaction such an amazing and challenging job can give to your life.
If you’ve felt lost or felt that your life has been without direction, there is no better time to go back to school for one of many medical jobs. They will give you a investment on your future. and you will love what you do every day. If you **** what you do, how will you do it until you retire? Most importantly, are you and your family secure right now, or could a medical job offer greater security to your future. No matter how you look at it, if you are interested at all in one of many medical jobs, you can go back to school and be certified in under two years. Then the rest of your life can be happy and satisfying because you will have a job that you love!

Medical Transcription/ Medical Jobs

Lisa asked:
With the economy in the worst shape it’s been in for many years, the obvious career choice with the most stability is in the medical field. Most people don’t have the genius level of a rocket scientist, and therefore could not hope to gain employment as a doctor, but there are many more medical jobs to choose from. A two year college degree is all that’s required for a job as a nurse’s aid or assistant. And if working on sick people isn’t your calling, there’s always work available as a medical transcriptionist.
A medical transcriptionist requires a few classes to learn medical terms, and once you pass the test, you’re ready to begin your exciting career in medical transcription. There are many clinics and hospitals who hire medical transcriptionists who have the option of working at home. This is a big plus for a mom who has young children at home, or a person who enjoys working in the comfort of their own home. Think about it - you can work any time you choose. You can even work in your pajamas!
As long as you can type at least 60 words per minute, and have a good grasp of medical terminology, you can be a medical transcriptionist. What could be better than working at home at your convenience? Medical jobs such as this provide good income, with the added benefit of working at your own pace. You simply type all the dictated doctor reports, and then turn them in to the hospital or clinic in which you are employed. What could be better?
Once you establish yourself in this medical field, the sky is the limit. You could work practically anywhere in the world as a transcriptionist. And the best benefit of working at home, is you don’t need an expensive wardrobe to work in an office setting. You can wear whatever you wish, and work at your convenience. So if it’s palm trees and warm breezes you long for, simply choose your destination, and go for it!
Isn’t it good to know that you have so much freedom in your career choice? Many employers prefer that you work in your home. It’s more economical for them, and so much better for you. A medical transcriptionist job can earn you a very nice income, and with the added perk of working at home, you’ll save a lot of money that you would have otherwise spent on uniforms or work attire.
Another perk in working at home, is you can work no matter if there’s a winter storm going on outside, or if your car broke down and can’t get you anywhere. Your employer knows that this is a big plus for them. No more calling in sick, you’re at home! This benefits your employer as well as you. Working at home allows you to work whether you’re under the weather inside or outside.
Medical jobs are no longer just for doctors and nurses. Anyone can work in the medical field today, even you!
